We have been providing friendly, helpful support to our members for over 40 years.

Our Beginning

In 1966 a group of NSW senior security managers representing a wide cross section of government, industrial, commercial and retail organisations, sharing a common, professional career experience, usually commencing with prior employment as police or armed services personnel, met to discuss and eventually form the Institute of Commercial and Industrial Security Executives (ICISE.) and later changed to the Institute of security Executives (ISE).

Where We Are Today

Today, the Security Providers Association of Australia Limited (SPAAL) carries on the proud traditions, ethics and objectives established in 1966 with a large and varied membership of security service providers.

The Association has always been at the forefront of endeavours to improve ethics, standards, quality of manufacture, installation, training and development of regulatory and statutory controls for the very diverse, technologically powered and human world that makes up the security industry of today and tomorrow.

SPAAL is committed to education and professional development, compliance and raising of security industry standards.
